5 things girls with great brows know

And they won’t ever tell you – but we will.

Here’s the thing about great brows: No one was born with them. In fact, behind every set of Cara Delevingne’s there’s a person with a pair of tweezers who has sculpted them into submission.

We sat down with one of those people – Steve Supple from Sydney’s renowned Brows by Steve – who let us in on all the rules that girls with great brows live by.

They don’t over pluck

Yeah, we know the ‘90s are back, but the tiny little single-haired arches of the era? Not so much.  “Skinny brows can look harsh and aggressive – plus it’s very ageing,” says Steve.

They have long lean tails

The end of the brow should be long and not too high. High arches will make your eyes look smaller. “Your brow should frame your eyes, from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner and create a balance between the two,” Steve says.

They leave “surprised face” to emojis

Turns out, the perpetual surprised look is not that flattering. “Half moon brows should only be seen on clowns,” Steve says, “and they’ll also make your face appear more round.”

They ban the tadpole look

You know the brows: bulbous on one end, super thin on the other, kind of looks like a comma? Yep, well this look is not a thing. “The ‘block and tail’ look creates imbalance and will add a weight or heaviness to one particular section of the brow,” advises Steve.

They have a brow guy (or girl)

You don’t have to be a Kardashian (or have their budget) to see a regular brow person. In fact, if you want an amazing shape, this should be your first call. “Brow specialists will able to balance your brows or design your new, personalized, bespoke shape to compliment your personal features… it’s like having a natural facelift.”
