Beyoncé Gave Fans A Sneak Peek At Her Formation Tour Wardrobe

"Wow. So Pretty!"

Beyoncé has posted a video to her Facebook page giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how her epic Formation tour wardrobe came to be.

“The process for designing this tour came from the beginning of the project, which was the movie,” says costume designer Marni Senofonte, referring to the video for Formation which dropped back in February.

“There was a very antebellum feel to the film. We went back to New Orleans, we had this Victorian street wear.”

With the help of assistant Eyob Yohannes, Senofonte’s put out a call to designers, who sketched their ideas for Beyoncé to choose from.

Eventually it was designers including Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Dsquared2 who made the cut.

When sifting through the finished product, it was a white Balmain number that stopped the Grammy-winner in her tracks.

“Wow, alright!” she exclaimed. “Somebody came through. That’s so pretty!”

In the video, Bey also tries on one of the oversized hats, as seen in the “Formation” video and that she wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards in June.

“Nowhere in the world do they make these hats,” Senofonte told the singer. “This hat maker literally drove to Mexico to buy sombreros.”
