There were *so* many stars at Alexander Wang

Thanks to Alexander Wang’s cryptic social media countdowns and penchant for tongue-in-cheek theatrics (pole dancers were a highlight last season), his show is always one of the most highly anticipated of New York Fashion Week.

As expected, Spring ’17 lived up to the hype. Famous fans Madonna, Zoe Kravitz and Kylie Jenner sat front row. Wang’s squad of in-demand models like Kendall Jenner, Lexi Boling and Binx Walton took to the runway. The epic after-party was catered by 7-Eleven and McDonald’s.

But what of the clothes?

They didn’t disappoint, either. Neon bike caps and Point Break-esque sweatshirts are sure to appeal to his #instafamous followers, but there was plenty for mere mortals to enjoy- deconstructed shirting and pinstripes perfect for the modern workplace, weekend-ready distressed denim and lace-trimmed slip dresses come cocktail hour. Wang signatures- 90s silhouettes, masculine fabrics, sporty undertones- were reinvented with mesh inserts, hits of animal print and top-stitched finishes.

Another headline-making highlight? The unveiling of the 84-piece adidas Originals x Alexander Wang capsule collection, which will land online early 2017. Expect to see all the cool kids in black tracksuit pants, tees and hoodies with adidas’ signature stripes and logos flipped upside down.
