Another two Australian fashion labels have collapsed

Who will be next?

First Marcs and David Lawrence went into voluntary administration last week, now two more Australian labels beloved by corporate dressers have collapsed: Herringbone and Rhodes & Beckett.

Rhodes & Beckett and Herringbone, the home of crisp white shirts and tailored suiting that appealed to professional men and women alike, were majority owned by luxury German brand Van Laack, but have now been placed in the hands of voluntary administration firm Cor Cordis.

Van Laack bought Herringbone when it was put into voluntary administration in 2009, and Rhodes & Beckett in 2012.

The news puts the jobs of 140 staff at risk across 29 stores, including Myer concessions.

Industry experts predict further local fashion brands will fold in the coming months, the Australian Financial Review reports.
