Yes, Hangover-free alcohol exists

Dreams do come true.

Cast your mind back to last Sunday morning, as you peeled yourself out of bed around midday, cursing the day you ever heard the word margarita and declaring that you’ll never drink again.

Well, what if we told you you could have the margaritas, minus the hangover? Too good to be true, you’d say? Stop teasing us, you’d beg?

A British scientist claims to have invented a miracle booze which he calls ‘alcosynth’ and which he says gets you merry, but without the pesky hangover.

While it’s a little way off being available from your local bottlo, this is still a major breakthrough for all us mere mortals who dared to dream.

“It will be there alongside the scotch and the gin, they’ll dispense the alcosynth into your cocktail and then you’ll have the pleasure without damaging your liver and your heart,” Dr. David Nutt, an Imperial College Professor, told The Independent

“They go very nicely into mojitos. They even go into something as clear as a Tom Collins. One is pretty tasteless and the other has a bitter taste,” he added.

Professor Nutt previously courted controversy for a study he did which claimed that ecstasy and LSD were less harmful than alcohol and could be used in the treatment of depression and was relieved from his position as Britain’s chief drugs advisor in 2009.

While his latest finding is still being “rigorously tested”, he says if successful, alcosynth could completely replace normal alcohol by 2050.

34 years and we’ll be READY, but we guess it’s business as usual until then…
