After news broke yesterday of Kim Kardashian’s terrifying attack in Paris her hotel room, the internet was quick to slam the incident, labeling it a “publicity stunt” and criticizing her for “bringing it on herself”.
There were also a number of other conspiracy theories that quickly gained traction.
The 35-year-old mother-of-two was reportedly bound with packing tape and forced into the bathtub in her luxury apartment by five men who had posed as police officers.
The reality star was thankfully unharmed but obviously shaken by the incident, where more than $14 million worth of jewellery was stolen, with her engagement ring as well as a new ring gifted to her by husband Kanye West – believed to be amongst it.
While police are still investigating the incident, we’ve rounded up the most outrageous, far-fetched and down right ridiculous conspiracy theories doing the rounds:
1. It was staged for publicity
Apparently the incident was staged for publicity and to help boost ratings for her reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
2. It was an insurance job
Some believe Kim and Kanye set the whole thing up to claim back the money from the stolen jewellery.
3. Taylor Swift orchestrated it as payback
Screw writing a song about their feud, apparently Taylor took things next level by orchestrating the robbery herself.
4. Donald Trump did it to distract the news from him
The US Presidential candidate has done some wacky things during his campaign but we’re not sure about this one…
5. There’s a Pink Panther gang and they targeted the reality star
Cue the Pink Panther music…
6. The Illuminati are behind it all
Well if you believe this one you know they are behind everything, obviously.
8. Kim’s phone was the real prize, the jewellery was just a bonus
Others believe that Kim’s phone was the real target, with the contents of the phone being more valuable than all of her bling combined, with the perpetrators reportedly planning to use the phone to blackmail the star.
