Here we were thinking that’s very reasonable, and leaves plenty of time before stressing about the body clock, when all of a sudden, someone had to rock the boat and release a new study. And you’re not going to like what it has to say.

Cognitive scientist Tom Griffiths and journalist Brian Christian released a book called Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions, and they think maths can guide the way you navigate your relationships.
They explore an algorithm called ‘the 37% rule’, which suggests that we make our best decisions in life after screening 37% of the options.
The authors have suggested that when you apply this to ‘looking for love’, and assume that the average ages people are looking for partner from is 18 – 40, then the ‘37% mark’ would be 26. They suggest that after that, options start getting taken up and you’re left with a smaller pool.

So 26 is their suggestion for the ‘ideal age to get married’.
But obviously, you should make up your own mind, and this is different for every person.
