Everything We Know About ‘Beauty And The Beast’ So Far

It's safe to say we're pretty excited

After getting a taste of the highly-anticipated remake of Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, we take a look at what we know about the action-packed, star-studded film so far.

Emma Watson is taking on the starring role as iconic Disney heroine Belle alongside Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens who will play The Beast to her Beauty.

The villainous character of Gaston will be played by Luke Evans and Kevin Kline will bring some theatrical flair playing Belle’s father Maurice.

Emma Thompson has come on board as Mrs. Potts the teapot, joined by Josh Gad as Le Fou (the voice of Olaf in Frozen), Sir Ian McKellan as Cogsworth and Stanley Tucci joins the cast as a new character called Cadenza.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw will play Plumette the sultry maid who turns into a feather duster and we got a taste of Ewan McGregor’s French accent as loveable Lumiere the candelabra in the teaser trailer released on Monday.

Alan Menken, who scored the original animated Beauty and the Beast, and Sir Tim Rice (of Aladdin and The Lion King) are at the helm of the musical score so it’s sure to be a classic.

The film will feature new recordings of the original film’s classic songs (Be My Guest, anyone?), as well as some rumoured new ones.

The film also sees Emma reunited with screenwriter Stephen Chbosky, who wrote The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

This film will hit cinemas on March 17, 2017.
