Kat Stewart And Peter Helliar Parody ‘Jacketgate’ In The Logies’ Most Hilarious Moment

“I told you I was wearing fuchsia”

When a Channel 9 employee leaked footage of a very tense moment between reporters Amber Sherlock and Julie Snook (would you believe it: they were both wearing white), the video clip rapidly went viral.

So of course, the incident was parodied at the Logies last night, by none other than comedian Peter Helliar and Offpsring star Kat Stewart.

As they appeared from opposite ends of the stage to present the award for Most Outstanding Comedy, it instantly became apparent that they were both wearing hot pink – Stewart in a dramatic asymmetrical gown and Helliar in a lurid suit.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, you need to change,” Helliar deadpans. “Can we get wardrobe, I asked you two hours ago, I asked you specifically… you need to put a jacket on.”

Cue an assistant handing Stewart the world’s ugliest poncho.

Meanwhile Sherlock, who appeared to take the skit with good grace, made the brave decision to don a white dress for the awards night.

“I couldn’t shy away from it,” she told Fairfax Media of the Jason Grech design. “I just want to show that I have a sense of humour and I can take it on board.”
