This New Gilmore Girls Theory May Change The Way You Think About Rory And Logan

This is the best one yet!

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Many fans were left utterly confused, and let’s admit it, devastated, by the Gilmore Girls revival finale, and particularly those last four words. But this new theory could be a game changer, and make you feel differently about the whole thing!

So people have theorised that by Rory telling her mum, “I’m pregnant”, it is symbolic of things coming full circle. The popular theory goes that Rory is pregnant with Logan’s baby and that Logan is therefore her ‘Christopher’, and that Jess will be her ‘Luke’, much like in her mum Lorelai’s life.

However one fan has flipped things on its head by suggesting that in fact, her story is more like her grandma Emily’s life, with Logan really being her ‘Richard’. Now stay with us here.

“Emily and Richard met at Yale,” Kelsey Davis commented on a refinery29 post. “Richard was engaged to someone his family approved of, while Emily was the other woman. Richard broke his engagement to be with Emily. Maybe Rory and Logan are Emily and Richard, not Lorelai and Christopher.”

This theory does hold up in a number of ways – Rory and Logan met at Yale, Logan is now engaged to a French heiress called Odette but still seems to be in love with Rory.

Other people have also floated the theory, with Reddit dedicating a thread to it. One commenter pointed out that there have been other subtle links between Rory and Logan and Emily and Richard.

For instance, they wrote, “[Logan] even mentions the red dress she was wearing when he saw her in Hamburg, just like Richard mentions Emily’s blue dress,” in the story where they first met.

The fact that Rory is most likely pregnant with Logan’s baby does throw a bit of a spanner in the works, suggesting more of a link to Lorelai and Christopher. However it could really be a mix of both love stories.

What do you think? Are Logan and Rory more like Lorelai/Christopher or Emily/Richard?
