This Samara Weaving Image Has Gone Viral For All The Wrong Reasons

She is not happy about it.

Former Home & Away actress Samara Weaving has become an unintentional internet sensation – thanks to a hardline US political group.

Right-wing twitter account Conservation Nation used an image of Weaving on its social media feed, along with the caption “Here’s what happened to female Trump supporter when she met ‘peaceful’ and ‘tolerant’ liberals.”

The post has since been been retweeted more than 500 times, and ‘liked’ 362 times.

The only problem? The photo was actually a shot of Weaving (who is actor Hugo Weaving’s niece) having make-up applied on the set of TV series Ash vs Evil Dead.

As Weaving herself said, when she took to Twitter, “I’m not an American. I can’t vote in your country. This is so stupid … get rid of this please.”

It’s not clear whether Conservative Nation originally intended for the post to be satirical, but many of its followers seem to believe the post genuinely shows a woman injured at a Trump rally.
