Photos of protestors have filled the media over the past few weeks – from pink-hat-clad women taking part in the Women’s Marches to throngs of people protesting Trump’s anti-immigration ban at airports across the States.

But in the sea of photos, a few stand out – and this image by Chicago Tribune photographer Nuncio DiNuzzo is one of them.

The photo, which has gone viral, shows Rabbi Jordan Bendat-Appell and Muslim father Fatih Yildirim laughing as their children – nine-year-old Adin and seven-year-old Meryem – sit on their shoulders, both holding placards that read “Home Has No Home Here’ and ‘Love Is Love’.

The Jewish Rabbi revealed to The Huffington Post that when the photo was snapped the fathers were swapping tips on where to get kosher steak.

“What was wonderful was that it was a very human interaction ― not a Jew and Muslim, but two human beings (who look enough alike to be brothers!), standing up for what is right,’ he admitted.

Even more poignantly, the two families are set to meet up soon for Shabbat. ‘I’m making steak, he is bringing baklava,’ he joked.
