Two fifty-year-old men have been charged with raping a ten-month-old baby girl in her home in April 2014.
One of the men is being charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10 years and producing, possessing and sharing child abuse material. The other is being charged with seven offences, including accessing child pornography, sexual intercourse with a person under 10 years old, and using the 10-month-old baby to make child abuse material.
The Daily Mail reports that though the men were due to appear in court today, they did not appear, and they will remain held behind bars until Tuesday July 12, when the case returns to Central Local Court. Bail has been formally refused.
The men were arrested in Melbourne’s north-east on Tuesday and appeared in court in Victoria, and have since been extradited to NSW.
The arrest took place after Victoria police alerted the NSW Police Force following an investigation into alleged child exploitation material earlier this year.
