The Veronicas Aren’t Happy With The Way Their Argument Was Edited On ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

They've already released a public statement.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia may be about business and brains but that doesn’t mean it’s short on drama as well. First up was the leaking of cast salaries which apparently caused huge amounts of drama off-screen, particularly when the lowest paid cast member found out. The latest contestants at the epicentre of it all are the Veronica sisters, Lisa and Jessica Origliasso.

The premiere episode saw the sisters engaged in a sibling spat, which nobody would think twice about usually, but reality TV needs to get its drama from somewhere. During their confessional time, things seem to get heated between the pair as a seemingly innocuous conversation escalated into an argument.

“Can you just say it please? ‘My patience is getting thin so if you know what needs to be said please say it, because if you know what needs to be said just say it,” Jess remarked.

Lisa quipped back by saying, “Ok I’m just letting you know something; you’re being a bit much.”

Jess then went on to say, “I’m irritated. All I need is for you to say it rather than tell me how to say it. Do you understand?”

Lisa put up her hand before telling her sister that she needed to “take a moment”.

Since the episode has aired, the twins have made a public statement on their Instagram page, calling the show out for catastrophizing the argument.

“We can’t believe we might actually need to preface this, but reality TV is highly edited out of ‘context’ to amplify drama and narrative that suits the agenda,” they wrote.

“Please use common sense and understand this is obviously not a transparent show – it’s a game show entertainment. The only ‘business’ in this show is the business of entertainment and drama. And because of that, a charity made 180k last night, which is the whole point here,” the statement continued.

As with any reality TV show, we need to take anything and everything with a grain of salt, and this incident is just further proof of that.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
