Henry Golding’s career is nothing short of impressive. From his breakout role in Crazy Rich Asians to charming (and heartbreaking) festive film Last Christmas, his talents are obvious, his charisma even more so.
But as busy as he has been acting up for the camera, attending red carpet events and just generally living his Hollywood A-list life in the public eye, he’s done well to keep his personal life a little more on the down-low.

Who is Henry Golding’s wife?
Henry Golding is married to Liv Lo Golding. She was born in Taichung City, Taiwan, she has previously spoken of her heritage on Instagram, explaining that some people don’t believe her when she tells them where she’s from.
“Typically, I answer flatly ‘I am Taiwanese’. I understand. I wouldn’t believe me too. Confusing. More questions come up. I am used to the drill. I respond ‘My biological father is Italian’, but deep down I am apologising to the man I call Dad.
“The truth is I AM TAIWANESE and I am a third culture kid. I was raised in a bilingual household in Taichung until 17 and hold a Taiwanese passport. My biological father didn’t raise me – in fact, I have never met him. My Dad, surname Lo, is from Hong Kong and raised us bilingually because they wanted a bigger world for our family. I am sorry Daddy, you have given me the world, and yet I have to say that I am half Italian to explain my race, not identity. I am not lying, but it’s not the truth too.”
Lo is a television presenter for Fox Movies Asia. She also trained as a yoga instructor and created a workout program which offers online yoga and HIIT tutorials.
How did she meet Henry Golding?
Lo met Golding at a mutual friend’s party held over New Years Eve in 2011. According to the Persuasion star, his now-wife made the first move.
“We were in a club on New Year’s Eve and I saw her from afar and she was this wildcat,” Golding explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
“Halfway through the night… she steps in my way and she says, ‘Why haven’t you said hello to me yet? I’m leaving tomorrow and you’re never going to see me again—what are you going to do about it?'”
“It’s hot when a girl takes you by the collar,” Golding added.
The pair encountered a couple of obstacles to start with—namely that Golding lived in LA while Lo lived in Tokyo. But they made the long distance relationship work.
Engagement and wedding
In 2015, Lo revealed Golding had popped the question while they were holidaying together in Phuket.
“We had the best day riding on motorbikes to temples, finding secret beaches and eating spicy Thai food. He had booked a restaurant at sunset that ‘just so happened’ to have a string quartet playing and was serving champagne on arrival. But, I just thought he was being romantic as it was our anniversary,” Lo told Her World.
“However, we took a stroll on the rocks and he proposed at the magic hour. Unforgettable.”
The pair got married a year later in Malaysia in an intimate celebration at theCove 55 resort in Sarawak. They then spent their “minimoon” travelling around Europe.
Their first child
Lo and Golding welcomed a baby girl, Lyla Golding, in 2021. Golding announced the news by sharing a message dedicated to his wife on Instagram: “This woman right here. Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you.”
