In this year’s promotional photo, Chelsie is wearing a beautiful pale pink slip dress with light gold detailing, while Abbie is decked out in a halter-beck gown. Fans of the reality TV franchise have deduced this must mean it’s Chelsie who has captured the astrophysicist’s heart.
The fan theory has been doing the rounds for several years now and has held true in all seasons but one – Nick Cummins’, which we’ll say is an outlier. Other than that, the theory holds weight.
In 2017, Laura Byrne was dressed in white while runner-up Elise Stacey was dressed in a darker shade of gold. The year prior was Richie Strahan’s season and in the official final two promotional shot, Alex Nation cemented her place as the frontrunner wearing a stunning light gold gown as opposed to Nikki Gogan’s vibrant red dress. Next was Sam Wood’s 2015 season, which saw Snezana Markoski dressed in a white beaded gown (much like a wedding dress) while Lana Jeavons-Fellows wore silver. Even in Blake Garvey’s controversial season, the “dress theory” proved true as Sam Frost was proposed to while wearing a sparkling silver dress while runner-up Lisa Hyde was in a plunging jet black gown.
This even goes as far back as season one, with the OG Bachie Tim Robards picking now-wife Anna Heinrich who was dressed in a light-coloured beaded ensemble while Rochelle Emanuel-Smith wore a bright pink dress.
