Adelaide girl Alannah Davey had gone to her favourite park to play, just 20 metres from her home while her mother was vacuuming. But when mother Lisa Davey next saw her daughter, she was unconscious and bleeding on the middle of the road.
As 7 News reports, passing motorists had stopped to find the 10-year-old alone and injured in the road with a male driver. Three women helped Alannah, and say by the time an ambulance arrived, the man was gone.
“I don’t know how someone could do that, how could you hit somebody and not stop?” Lisa told 7 News.
“I don’t know. She was unconscious and they just left.
“It’s the worst thing you could ever think.”
Lisa continued: “They told me there was another guy there when they stopped and he said, ‘she’s been hit by a car’, but then when police and the ambulance rocked up, he was gone.”
Alannah has been treated for skull fractures, facial injuries and a bruised liver at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
