Adele has sparked engagement rumours after a memorable red carpet appearance at London’s BRIT Awards on Tuesday evening.
The iconic 33-year-old singer was in her absolute element posing on the red carpet before she performed at the ceremony—a feat she flew last minute from her current home in the US to do after postponing her Las Vegas residency last week.
The rare appearance at the BRITs was exciting enough in its own right, not least because of the stunning black velvet custom Armani gown she wore. But it was the sparkling accessory on her left-hand ring finger that really got people talking.
The singer’s huge diamond ring was hard to miss, with people immediately assuming it was from her current boyfriend, Rich Paul.
Could this be one of the greatest celebrity engagement reveals of all time…?
Just last week, the singer confirmed their relationship was alive and well after several tabloids claimed the pair had called it quits.
Adele clapped back at the rumours by telling her fans: “Oh, and Rich sends his love.” Queen behaviour.
Adele and Paul were first romantically linked in May 2021 when the successful sports agent told a reporter from The New Yorker that he’d been “hanging out” with a major pop star.
A couple of months later, they were seen attending a basketball game in LA together, and by September, Adele soft launched her new beau via Instagram with a carousel featuring an image of the pair attending a friend’s wedding together.
In October, Adele opened up to Vogue about their relationship, telling the magazine, “I just love being around him. I just love it. He was like, ‘What are people going to say?’ And I was like, ‘That you signed me. As an athlete. You’re my agent.’ And he was like, ‘OK, cool.'”
If their engagement is confirmed, this will no doubt inspire a big part of Adele’s next album (35 anyone?).
And while her latest album release, 30 was largely about moving on from her divorce with ex-husband Simon Konecki, we’re at least betting the next will be more about falling in love rather than falling out of it. Stay tuned…
