Adut Akech Is The New Face of Estée Lauder

The South Sudanese-Australian model lends her glowing personality (and skin) to the brand.

Joining Estée Lauder ’s timeless lineup of international talent, South Sudanese-born, Australian-raised and now LA-based model, Adut Akech, is the latest model to grace the beauty brand’s iconic makeup and skincare campaigns.

“Adut is one of fashion’s biggest and most influential stars. We believe her incredible story, personality and beauty will help us continue to inspire and connect with our consumers and establish her as a beauty icon of her generation” says Stéphane de La Faverie, Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies & Global Brand President.

In addition to featuring in fashion campaigns for Houses including Chanel, Fendi and Saint Laurent, and being a familiar face in the pages of luxury magazine titles across the globe, the model has also cemented herself as a role model and change-maker. Making her appointment the perfect pairing, Akech says passionate about using her platform to support and represent refugees by working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

“Estée Lauder has such an amazing heritage, and the story of Mrs. Estée Lauder continues to be an inspiration to women around the world,” says Akech, “I hope to inspire girls everywhere to never give up on following their dreams.”

Adding a personal note to her announcement on Instagram, Akech also shared: “to now be the representation in the fashion and beauty space I didn’t have growing up means everything to me. My little sisters will now also see their faces in my beauty ads and campaign billboards. Little black girls in South Sudan, Africa and all around the world will now see themselves.”
