The wait is almost over.

The 2021 Afterpay Australian Fashion Week kicks off next week and we can hardly wait. We’ve waited a long time for this and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest and best yet.

Running from Monday May 31 – Friday June 4, the show will celebrate fashion in all its many forms, showcasing work from lauded designers. Runways and showcases will take place not only at Carriageworks, but other venues around Sydney as well.

Attendees can expect to see runway shows, panel discussions, and an overall celebration of the wider cultural fashion landscape. It’s a great opportunity for emerging designers, students and anyone interested in the world of fashion to immerse themselves completely.

Key highlights from the week include Jordan Dalah’s opening runway show debuting his Resort ‘22 collection, the Romance Was Born opening night show and the Indigenous Fashion Projects gallery.

This year’s event will unlike any other, with a renewed focus on sustainability, and a new hub which highlights First Nations designers. In addition, 12 Indigenous designers will showcase in three separate Indigenous fashion events: Welcome to Country, the First Nations Fashion and Design Runway and the First Nations Fashion and Design Talk.

Other standout activities include ‘The Talks’ presented by Glenfiddich Whisky, which will see four thought-provoking talks with high profile fashion names as they discuss important subjects in the fashion world.
