Want To Go To The Biggest Fashion Industry Event Of The Year? Here’s How

Australia Fashion Week is back and better than ever, baby.

The pinnacle of Australian fashion is undoubtedly the week-long resort collection presentations held annually mid-year, also known as Afterpay Australian Fashion Week.

For years, the curtain to the industry’s most illustrious event has been closed to the public, with the shows reserved for the upper echelon of Australian fashion.

However, now thanks to Afterpay and IMG, the schedule is more accessible than ever before.

Yes, you read that rightyou’ll be able to rub shoulders with supermodels and mingle with fashion editors and the crème de la crème of Australian creativity and craftsmanship.

Called ‘The Experience’, Australian fashion consumers will be given unprecedented access to a series of runway shows and inspiring conversations and panels from our favourite emerging and established designers.

The runway shows will take place throughout the week, with headlining shows including a group showcase by Indigenous Fashion Projects featuring the winner of the ​​inaugural Indigenous Designer of Year award MAARA Collective, and chic sustainable brands St. Agni and Hansen & Gretel.

Rounding out the participating designers are Karla Špetić, Mariam Seddiq, Gen-Z favourite Dyspnea and Future of Fashion Collection featuring Anna Quan, Cue, Manning Cartell, Rachel Gilbert and Oroton.

As for ‘The Talks’, industry leaders including bassike, Bianca Spender, Michael Lo Sordo and GINGER & SMART will host informative conversations on topics ranging from Digital Fashion: The New Frontier to the Sustainable Business Journey.

While the official schedule, including all the participating designers, is yet to be announced, if these names are anything to go by then we’re confident that AAFW 2022 will be bigger than ever before.

“Last year at fashion week it was amazing to see the initial stages of the consumer starting to engage with the shows”, Afterpay CEO Nick Molnar tells us, “the huge focus for us this year is to make the experience for customers like never before.”

‘The Experience’ tickets range from $109 to $300 depending on the runway show, with ‘The Talks’ $49. Fashion fans are able to grab their AAFW 2022 tickets here, and of course, use Afterpay to pay.
