E! host Giuliana Rancic greeted Brie on the SAG Awards red carpet, highlighting that both she and the Glow actress support the Time’s Up movement. “So much of the movement has to do with transparency and, as you know, your family and your brother-in-law has been in the news recently,” Rancic said to Brie. “What are your thoughts on that and what can you share about how that’s affected you and your family?”

Brie answered: “I think that above all, what we’ve always said is it remains vital that anyone that feels victimised should and does have the right to speak out and come forward”

“I obviously support my family,” she continued. “Not everything that has been reported is fully accurate, so I think we’re waiting to get all the information. But of course now is the time for listening and that’s what we’re all trying to do.”

After James Franco appeared at the Golden Globes with a Time’s Up pin on his suit lapel, five women came forward to accuse the actor and filmmaker of sexually exploiting them and behaving inappropriately on set, as detailed in a Los Angeles Times exclusive.

Brie married Franco’s younger brother, Dave Franco, in September 2017. Both Franco brothers star in The Disaster Artist, for which James Franco is nominated for a Most Outstanding Actor award at the SAGs tonight.

Brie is also nominated for an SAG Award for her role in Glow: Most Outstanding Actress in a comedy series.
