A month after writing an open letter to Merideth Kercher, it’s been announced that Amanda Knox is hosting an interview series on Vice and Facebook.
The 30-year-old, who was convicted of her flatmate Kercher’s murder in Italy in 2007 before being officially exonerated in 2015, will “explore the gendered nature of public shaming” in the show.
Kercher was just 21 when she was found dead in her bedroom of the house she shared with Knox in Perugia, Italy, on November 1, 2007.
Knox and her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were charged and convicted of the murder. The case was widely publicised and Knox was given the name ‘Foxy Knoxy.’
Throughout the five episode series, Knox is set to interview figures such as Amber Rose and teen rape survivor Daisy Coleman.
“While on trial for a murder I didn’t commit, my prosecutor painted me as a sex-crazed femme fatale with magical powers to control men,” Knox said in a statement provided by Vice.
“I lost years of my life to prison because of two-dimensional and misogynist stereotypes. In The Scarlet Letter Reports, I’m hoping to re-humanise others who have been similarly shamed and vilified, and elevate the standard for how we think and talk about public women.”
