What Is The Plot Of Blithe Spirit?
An adaptation of Noel Coward’s hit play of the same name, the film follows sceptical novelist Charles Condomine, who invites self-proclaimed medium Madame Arcati to his home for a séance, where he’s hoping to gather material for a new book. However, when the psychic accidentally summons the spirit of Condomine’s late wife, Elvira, his home and life are quickly turned upside down as his wife’s ghost torments both himself and his new bride, Ruth.
Essentially, imagine being in a love triangle with your current wife of five years and your deceased first wide whose soul has been summoned by a spiritualist, who you thought was a fraud. If that perplexing concept sounds like a delightful watch, then Blithe Spirit is the pick for you.
