Amber Heard just took occasion dressing to the extreme, stepping out for the premiere of her new film Aquaman in a Valentino swimming cap. In the movie, Heard plays Mera, the love interest of Aquaman (Jason Momoa), who can move water with her mind and is also telepathic, so it only makes sense that she’d give her character a (not so) subtle nod while promoting the superhero classic.
For the London premiere, which had a fitting blue carpet, Heard stepped out wearing a Valentino gown with a coordinating bonnet in the same fabric – or, if you’re a sea queen, who may soon rule the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, it’s almost certainly a couture swimming cap.
The green-and-gold-foil floral gown features a plunging square neckline and Empire waist with a cutout back, thigh-high split and a wide, trailing skirt. Heard opted to finish the look with gold Brian Atwood platform heels.
Pick pretty much any other person to wear this look and it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Heard, however, pulls it off spectacularly and leaves us not only wishing we owned her face, but also a couture bathing cap to go with it.
