Amy Schumer’s Docuseries ‘Expecting Amy’ Shines A Light On Her Complicated Pregnancy Journey

The candid comedian like we've never seen her before

From her stand-up comedy specials to her pregnancy journey, comedian Amy Schumer is anything but private. And while some affiliate her openness with crudeness, her ability to share her most personal experiences with the world has opened eyes toward the highs and lows of life’s biggest challenges.

In her new docu-series, Expecting Amy, the three-part series explores Schumer’s marriage to professional chef, Chris Fischer and highlights the pressure put upon women to “do it all” without ever complaining.

According to a press release for the series: “It takes viewers behind-the-scenes as Schumer battles through an extraordinarily difficult pregnancy while documenting the formation of a comedy special.”

“Schumer continues touring to prepare for the taping in Chicago that she isn’t sure she will be able to execute. It focuses on pulling the curtain completely back on her marriage to husband Chris Fischer, and the journey to his diagnosis on the autism spectrum.”

Just as notably, the series follows the highs and lows of Schumer’s difficult pregnancy and her battle with hyperemesis, a severe type of nausea and vomiting that followed her throughout the entire duration of her pregnancy.

And while we’re used to witnessing Schumer cracking jokes and not taking things too seriously, Expecting Amy offers a realistic look into her pregnancy struggles, with equal amounts of comedic banter.

Expecting Amy is currently available to watch on Binge.
