It appeared to be confirmed by fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg and journalist Derek Blasberg, who have both shared touching tributes for the late icon.
Von Furstenberg captioned her post "Good bye darling André… no one saw the world in a more glamorous way than you did… no one was grander and more soulful than you were…the world will be less joyful. I have loved you and laughed with you for 45 years….I miss your loud screams…I love you soooo much."
Controversially, Vogue's Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour did not immediately release a statement following the announcement—could this have anything to do with their ongoing feud?

Talley returned to the magazine 1998, and remained the Editor-At-Large until his departure in 2013.
Throughout his tenure, Talley encouraged international designers and magazines to feature more people of colour in their respective works.
Talley also served as a judge on the cult reality television series America's Next Top Model and made a now-iconic cameo in the 2008 Sex And The City film.
