A young doctor who was doused in petrol and stabbed by a man she met on Tinder has spoken out about her ordeal.
Angela Jay told The Daily Telegraph that she was certain she was “going to bleed to death” after the attack.
Dr Jay met Paul Lambert through Tinder, and although she initially found him “very charming”, she broke off the relationship when he began bombarding her with texts.
She took out an Apprehended Violence Order when Lambert reminded her that he had keys to the house and began sending threatening texts.
On the night she was attacked, Lambert leapt out of wardrobe and stabbed her, before dousing her in petrol.
“I looked down at my legs and saw stab wounds and thought, ‘My God, he’s going to kill me, I’m going to bleed to death’,” the 28-year-old told The Daily Telegraph.
Fortunately, Dr Jay’s neighbour heard her screams and ran to her house.
She is now speaking out about the ordeal to raise awareness of violence against women.
