Angelina Jolie Details Brad Pitt’s Alleged Physical Abuse In New Court Filing

The alleged incident took place on a private plane.

New details about an alleged incident, which took place shortly before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s split in 2016, have emerged.

According to a filing from a cross-complaint in Jolie and Pitt’s ongoing suit over the French winery they previously co-owned, the Malificent star filed papers that alleged that negotiations between the pair broke down when Pitt’s team demanded she sign a nondisclosure agreement that would “prohibit her from speaking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children”.

New York Times reports that the filing alleges that Pitt physically assaulted Jolie and two of their children while on a flight between France and California in September 2016.

According to the filing, “Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face”. It also claims he “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her”.

“He poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children,” the filing also alleges.

Days after the trip, Jolie filed for divorce and opened an investigation with federal authorities. The FBI declined to bring criminal charges

In August, Entertainment Tonight obtained a report from the FBI which laid out the assault allegations that took place on the private flight. While the report was “heavily redacted”, the FBI listed two alleged assaults as “criminal activity”, with Jolie’s version of events.

The report included allegations that there was heavy tension between two people, which the publication presumed to be Pitt and the couple’s son, Maddox.

Jolie then alleged that when she asked Pitt what was wrong, he told her: “That kid looks like a f**king Columbine kid. You don’t know what you’re doing.”

She also alleged that Pitt took her to the back of the flight and “grabbed her by her head, shaking her, followed by grabbing her at the shoulders and shaking her.”

ET also spoke to someone they claim was a “source close to Pitt”, who said of the leaked document, “Angelina and her team have been desperately trying to find something. This is all for show. This is all information that she already had five and a half years ago. There is nothing new here.”

What does the report allege?

The report alleges that the private jet incident took place on September 14, 2016, and Jolie was interviewed by the FBI a month later where she detailed her allegations against Pitt.

She described how the family had allegedly boarded a private flight together, and she claimed he cornered her towards the back of the plane in a restroom where their children couldn’t hear them.

She alleged that Pitt shook her and yelled things like: ‘You’re f—king up this family.'”

She also claimed Pitt referenced a specific individual and said,”[redacted is] gonna kill someone, will you be happy then?”

Jolie claimed that Pitt then “punched the ceiling of the plane approximately four times.” Then, when she opened the door to the bathroom she claimed two of their children were outside crying, and they asked her: “Are you ok mommy?”

She alleged that she knelt down to to hug her child when Pitt pushed her and told them, “No, mommy’s not ok. She’s ruining this family. She’s crazy.”

Jolie also alleged that while on the flight, one of the children whose name was redacted from the report told Pitt: “It’s not her, it’s you, you p—k!”

Pitt then allegedly ran towards the child, but Jolie held him back. Jolie claimed she suffered injuries to her back and elbow in the process.

At the end of the flight, Jolie claimed in the report that Pitt held the family back and told her “You’re not taking my f–king kids.” She alleges that Pitt also pushed her.

What happened after the alleged flight incident?

Per ETPitt was never charged following Jolie’s allegations, with the report noting an FBI case agent’s summary in November 2016 reading: “After reviewing the document, representative(s) of the United States Attorney’s Office discussed the merits of this investigation with the case agent. It was agreed by all parties that criminal charges in this case would not be pursued due to several factors.”

A spokeswoman for the FBI’s field office in Los Angeles, Laura Eimiller, also said at the time: “In response to allegations made following a flight within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States which landed in Los Angeles carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation. No charges have been filed in this matter.”

Why has the report surfaced in 2022?

The report has surfaced after a person named “Jane Doe” sued the FBI for information regarding an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident—she filed the suit in April 2022. Following this, the FBI opened an investigation into the alleged private flight incident involving Pitt, the description of which matched Jane Doe’s suit. It’s therefore been widely reported that Jane Doe is Jolie.

In Jane Doe’s current lawsuit, they are challenging “defendants’ withholding of additional records,” per ET.

Jolie and Pitt share six children together: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14.
