Anna Faris Just Responded To Chris Pratt’s “Divorce Sucks”

She's a touch more eloquent

When Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced the end of their eight-year marriage in August 2017, hearts broke the world over. Was love officially dead? It looked that way.

While Anna has given multiple interviews since the couple announced their separation, Pratt didn’t speak publicly until yesterday. “Divorce sucks,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much. And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.”

Now, Anna has responded to her ex-husband’s words. She was asked for her reaction during a SiriusXM Hits 1 radio interview, to which she responded: “We have a great friendship. We really do. And we always have.”

“And yeah, it’s always tough to envision your future as one thing, but I think there’s a lot of love,” Anna continued. “And in what we do, there’s so much [unpredictability]. I think that it’s a lesson learned a little bit in terms of keeping relationships a little more private potentially even though I don’t wanna. I pride myself on being a pretty open person but I don’t know. It’s tough when you’re under the scrutiny.”

Faris has previously opened up about the former couple’s co-parenting arrangement, telling E! News in January: “I think the key is surrounding him with a lot of joy and happiness, which he has a ton of.”

The actress has also spoken about her new views on marriage after walking down the aisle twice.

“I need to figure out what the purpose is,” the 41-year-old explained on friend Dax Shepard’s podcast. “Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more?”

Faris added: “For me, I’m just not quite sure where it fits…I am a romantic. I believe in a partnership, I believe in companionship. I just don’t know if I believe in a ceremony of a wedding.”
