Anna Kendrick To Star In An All-Female Psychological Thriller About A Girls Trip Gone Wrong

This is going to be good

For those in need of a new all-female must-watch, then perhaps Anna Kendrick’s new psychological thriller is for you. Fans of A Simple Favor will surely remember the actress’ prowess for eerie, suspense-driven films, and her next flick looks to be no exception.

According to Deadline, the 35-year-old actress will star in a film, titled Alice, Darling. In the film, Kendrick’s character, Alice, heads off on a girls trip that ends up horribly wrong after a local woman goes missing, and Alice’s mysterious boyfriend, turns up unannounced.

Of course, his visit is much more than a surprise to Alice’s two best friends, after she has been behaving strangely and hiding information about her new love interest.

As we know the character of Alice will be played by Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Twilight). Joining Kendrick as her boyfriend will be Charlie Carrick (Molly Maxwell, Trench 11), and playing her two best friends will be Wunmi Mosaku (Loki, Lovecraft Country) and Kaniehtiio Horn (Mohawk, Letterkenny).

Directed by Mary Nighy, Kendrick is also an executive producer on Alice, Darling along with Sam Tipper-Hale.

This film will also mark Kendrick’s second stint with Lionsgate, after starring in the 2018 dark comedy A Simple Favor, that saw Kendrick at the centre of a manipulative and cunning turn of events, orchestrated by her ‘best friend’ Emily (played by Blake Lively) who had gone missing.

Alice, Darling is a subtle, nuanced story about coercion and control,” said Nighy. “As a director, I couldn’t wish for a better cast of talented actors and creatives to bring this important story to life. The chemistry between Anna Kendrick, Wunmi Mosaku, and Kaniehtiio Horn as the three friends is a joy to see.”
