When it comes to the ins and outs of celebrities dating lives, we’re usually kept up to speed. It’s hard for them to step out on their morning coffee run without being photographed, so keeping their personal lives on the down low is a relatively tricky task. Imagine our surprise then, when we found out that Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader have been quietly dating for the past year, unbeknown to, well, everyone.
The Pitch Perfect actress starred alongside Hader (who you might remember from Trainwreck, with Amy Schumer) in the Netflix Christmas movie, Noelle back in 2019. According to reports, they got together well after the movie had wrapped, and have been able to keep their relationship discreet due to the pandemic.
Speaking to People, a source said: “Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year. They met years ago. She’s hosted Saturday Night Live and they’ve done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie.
“They are both very private people, and with the pandemic it was easy to keep it quiet. They’re both hysterical so they must keep each other laughing all of the time. She’s really, really happy,” the source added.
Representatives for both actors have declined to speak at this stage, but it’s likely just a waiting game until further news breaks.
Hader was previously dating The O.C. actress Rachel Bilson, but the pair split in July 2020, just six months after making their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes. Prior to that, Hader was married to film director Maggie Carey, from 2006-2018. The pair share three children together, Hannah Kathryn (12), Harper (9) and Hayley Clementine (7).
Kendrick is notoriously private about her dating life but has previously been linked to actor Jake Gyllenhaal, director Edgar Wright and cinematographer Ben Richardson.
