Anya Taylor-Joy Celebrated Her Golden Globes Win In Two Dazzling Custom Dior Gowns

The actress oozed Old Hollywood glamour

At the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Anya Taylor-Joy not only took home a Best Actress award for her role in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit but landed herself on best-dressed lists everywhere thanks to her emerald-green gown and matching overcoat, courtesy of Dior Haute Couture and the millions worth of diamonds from Tiffany & Co.

To start off the night, the actresswho was nominated for her role in Emma and The Queen’s Gambitwore a custom Dior gown designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, which took three people and over three hundred hours to construct. The stunning ensemble featured a draped bust and sheath inspired by the fashion house’s AW18-19 Haute Couture collection, marie claire U.S. notes.

Taylor-Joy swapped out Beth Harmon’s signature fiery bob in favour of an icy blonde that was styled to perfection by Gregory Russell. For her evening glam, makeup artist Georgia Eisdell used Dior Beauty products to create the Old Hollywood-inspired look.

The glam also included a subtle nod to Beth, with Taylor-Joy adding a chess-inspired manicure into the mix done by nail artist Kim Truong. Fans noticed the phrase “Chess Openings” painted on one of the actress’ nails, pawns on the other, checkerboard patterns, and to top it off, the queen piece.

After winning her first Golden Globe, the actress stunned in yet another Dior Haute Couture look—this time, a satin, strapless number, complete with a pair of Dior heels.

The gown was another creation of Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, which took the fashion house’s team more than 150 hours to craft.

The actress looked like she’d stepped straight out of a Disney fairytale, keeping her striking long blonde locks for the second look.

According to Harper’s Bazaar U.S., Russell used the new GHD Max to create the enviable waves, noting the wider than usual plates make for a larger, looser curl with maximum bounce.
