Apple Martin Asks Gwyneth Paltrow And Blythe Danner When They “Felt The Prettiest” In Rare Interview

The three generations of Paltrow women join forces online

We’ve been blessed with not one, not two, but three generations of Paltrow women this week. Posted on August 2, Gwyneth Paltrow sat down with her 16-year-old daughter Apple Martin, and her famous mother Blythe Danner to discuss her lifestyle brand, Goop.

The interview with lead by Apple Martin, who asked her mother and grandmother about their beauty secrets. She also helped to open the conversation to discuss Paltrow’s latest Goop products that she’s been working on.

Starting off the video, Martin asked what advice Paltrow and Danner would give their younger selves. “Grow up!” Danner jokes, and Paltrow cracks, “Get your shit together, man!”.

From there, Paltrow introduced her co-conspirators as she turned the camera onto herself and her family. “Okay, I am in my garden and I am here to tell you about some very special Goop products today that we have coming out with some very special guests to help me tell you all about them,” she said, after giving us a mere glimpse of her daughter.

If you head to Goop’s YouTube channel, you can find the extended version of the video, where Martin not only appears more frequently, but asks her mother and grandmother when they “felt the prettiest” and who taught them about skincare.
Paltrow shared that she felt “really great” during her late thirties and spoke up about ageing. “It’s definitely a process and I think when you see your first start to change, you don’t necessarily feel your most beautiful, externally,” she said. “But the irony is that time in your life when you actually really like yourself and love yourself so you sort of internally feel really beautiful.”
Her mother, Blythe Danner, countered Paltrow’s answer by admitting that she felt her most beautiful in her fifties and that her mother was the one who taught her about skincare, who’s beauty routine simply involved using Vaseline.
