Just hours after the horrific news an explosion has claimed the lives of 19 people at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, an American journalist logged on to Twitter to deliver a devastatingly low blow.
The freelance reporter who has worked for CBS and Yahoo has been condemned for his insensitive tweets joking about Ariana Grande’s music in the aftermath of the explosion.
“MULTIPLE CONFIRMED FATALITIES at Manchester Arena. The last time I listened to Ariana Grande I almost died too,” he tweeted.

“Dude, no. Delete and sincerely apologise to save yourself a shred of grace and dignity. Don't just carry on joking, you plum,” one Twitter user wrote in reply, while another added: “That's truly unbelievable. and the fact that it had so many RTs & likes makes me wanna vomit.”
Leavitt has since apologised for "offending" and issued the following tweet:
