Ariana Grande Makes First Public Outing Since Mac Miller’s Sudden Passing

Addressing her decision to skip the Emmys
Ariana Grande stepped out in New York with fiancé Pete Davidson on September 18th looking visibly distraught and even tearful at times.

As seen in exclusive pictures published on the Daily Mail, Grande stayed close to Davidson while they walked for thirty blocks through Manhattan.

Later that day, she was seen wearing an oversize grey jumper while walking in the rain with two friends. The 25-year-old hasn’t been seen publicly since news broke on September 7th that her former boyfriend of two years, Mac Miller passed away following an apparent overdose.

The Raindrops singer and her SNL star beau were expected to attend yesterday’s Emmy’s ceremony. Ariana’s reps told People that she chose to skip the event and Pete decided to support her by staying home. Grande has spoken briefly about her grief, sharing a touching message on Instagram over the weekend.

She wrote: “I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Grande and Miller first met in 2012 when they collaborated on The Way and officially started dating in 2016 eventually splitting in May 2018. “This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favourite people on the planet,” Grande wrote on an Instagram Story in May, shortly after their breakup. “I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!”

Days after his split from Ariana Grande, the rapper was involved in a car crash, TMZ claimed the star then “confessed to driving drunk and fleeing the scene.” Following the crash, Grande opened up about their “toxic relationship.” The 25-year-old said, “I will continue to pray from the bottom of my heart that he figures it all out and that any other woman in this position does as well.”

Reacting to Grande’s engagement to Pete Davidson just a few months later Miller said he only had “positive energy” for Ariana.

“I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years,” he told Zane Lowe on Apple Music in July. “We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it’s that simple.”

“I am happy for her and [the fact that she’s] moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is with me.”
