“Everyone from Jacquemus, Balenciaga and Vetements to Sacai and Ellery has been breaking down the shirt. It translates well to the Australian market – it’s comfortable and really cool. A man-style oversized shirt, maybe with longer sleeves and in a thick stripe or plain white, is an easy way to try it – you can belt it, wear it as a dress with heels, knot it up or tuck it into a longline skirt.”
1980s redux
“Demna Gvasalia [founder of Vetements and Balenciaga creative director] has been reconfiguring ’80s, Maison Margiela-esque influences for the here and now, and it’s taking the world by storm.”
