Jennifer Hawkins Reveals Her Go-To Date Night Outfit

Perfect for Valentine's Day!

Jennifer Hawkins spent Valentine’s Day away from her husband Jake Wall this year – but that doesn’t mean she’ll be letting the occasion slide by!

The Aussie model missed the famous date-night on Tuesday, spending it in a Melbourne hotel room by herself instead in preparation for walking the runway at the MYER Autumn/Winter 17 show there tonight. That being said, she’s already planned what she and Jake will be doing to celebrate this weekend.

“I think it’s nice if it’s an experience, to do something romantic,” she says. “I tend to love an experience, so going to dinner or something like that. I thought it best to do dinner after the show, so I can eat whatever I want… I’ll rip in on the weekend!”

When it comes to a date-night outfit, she likes to mix dressy and casual styles. While people may view her as ‘glamorous’, she says she’s a Northern Beaches girl at heart, and pretty much lives in denim – so dates are no exception.

“[Jake] really loves me in jeans!” she says. “So I tend to wear jeans and whatever the top may be, so dress up the top bit. And wear a pair of stilettos out for dinner or something like that.”

And she’s already dreaming about denim for winter – eyeing off an ‘amazing denim jacket’ in Australian designer AJE‘s new collection. She’s known to be a fan of AJE in the past, rocking their denim cutout dress at MYER’s Spring/Summer launch last year.

For MYER’s Autumn/Winter ’17 collection, she says that the biggest trends will be jewel-encrusted pieces, dark-based floral pieces and white denim soft-wash. Oh, and you won’t see the lace fabric choker trend going away too soon, as there are plenty of those still around.

One of the hardest things about winter is staying motivated fitness-wise, and Hawkins says she finds it difficult like anyone else. She says she runs less, but has a couple of tips for keeping the momentum going.

“You have to write it in your diary or something just to make yourself do it, but I tend not to run as much, just because it is winter. And it’s harder to do abs. So I think if you can, book yourself into a group class, or a personal trainer, because they will push you.”

And by juggling her own business, modelling, TV and more with fitness, she certainly does a good job of it!
