Americans Have Discovered Fairy Bread And They Just Can’t Even

'Straya, mate, the land of the plenty, where our white bread has sprinkles on it, and everything is good in the world.

It’s a humble, yet noble foodstuff: white bread, the cheapest that money can buy, slathered in butter and sprinkled not-so-liberally with hundreds and thousands.

Yes, we’re talking about Fairy Bread, the staple of children’s birthday parties nationwide, and suddenly named the Next Big Thing In Food by American website Refinery 29.

Our American friends have only just discovered the good stuff, and they can’t handle it. Social media has exploded with reactions to this delicious sweet delicacy (“it’s like sugar toast!”, ‘it’s so pretty!”, “I feel like I’m on a cloud!”), which they are claiming will overtake avocado on toast as the most instagrammed bread product in your feed. Yes, they’re a bit late to the party, but we’ll let this one pass thanks to their sheer enthusiasm for this national treasure treat.

Welcome to Australia, the land of the plenty, where our white bread has sprinkles on it, and everything is good in the world.
