Meet The German School Girl Believed To Be Fighting For IS In Iraq

She is just 16 years old

In July last year, German teenager Linda Wenzel went missing from her home in the village of Pulsnitz, near Dresden. Her parents had been desperately searching for the 16-year-old ever since, The Guardian reports.

Now, German authorities have confirmed that a German girl who was arrested in Iraq and believed to be fighting for Islamic State is Linda Wenzel.

The school girl was reportedly groomed on social media before converting to Islam.

Linda’s parents were aware she had a keen interest in the religion, but were unaware she had become radicalised.

“We didn’t think anything of it, and even bought her a copy of the Qur’an,” her mother Katharina told The Guardian.

The Sunday Times reports Linda was found with a baby boy in fortress in Mosul.

An Iraqi Special Operations Forces soldier said: “I don’t know for sure that it is her baby, but she keeps him with her always.

“I don’t think she regretted joining ISIS because she looked angry and she refused any help that we provide.”

The publication also reports that the girl may face trial after reportedly admitting to killing Iraqi soldiers when she was located by troops.
