Gold Coast Mother Attacked With Machete While 4-Year-Old Daughter Screams

It's believed to have been a robbery gone wrong

A Gold Coast mother has been left scarred for life after two men, attempting to rob her house, attacked her with a machete.

Ingrid Brown, her partner Michael Liddell, and their 4-year-old daughter Chloe were at home on Saturday night when the intruders first arrived.

The couple confronted the burglars and they left the house before returning two hours later, this time with weapons.

During the attack Michael suffered a cut to his forearm, while Ingrid’s face was seriously slashed, requiring her to undergo major reconstructive surgery.

Michael’s brother, who had been staying with the couple at the time recalled the event to News.com.au.

“Half of her face was hanging off, almost like it was going to fall off,” he said of Brown’s injuries.

“I took my shirt off and wrapped it around her face to stop the bleeding, but it was everywhere.”

“It will leave a permanent scar, not just physical either, but they are strong people and I hope they can overcome it together.”

“I had never seen anything like it, it was just some wartime (expletive),” he said.

Neighbours of the pair said they heard 4-year-old Chloe scream and some sort of attack going on inside.
