A 31-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on her way to school in NSW has been ordered to provide a DNA sample to police, a court has heard.
Troy Johnson allegedly attacked the school girl in Narara, near Gosford, while disguised in a camouflage suit in May, 2017.
Johnson is accused of forcing the young girl into the bushes and sexually assaulting her at knifepoint, Nine News reports.
He is facing nine charges including kidnapping, stalking and indecent assault relating to the alleged attack of the 12-year-old.
Police arrested Johnson last week following a three-month investigation after allegations emerged that he assaulted an 11-year-old girl.
As The Daily Telegraph reports, court documents allege the 12-year-old girl saw a “male person wearing camouflage clothing emerge from nearby bushes and approach her” on the morning of May 15.
“The male was holding a large stick, grabbed the child in a headlock and forced her into bushland adjacent to the pathway,” the documents state.
“The male then took the child to an area in the bushland approximately 30 meters west of the pathway.”
Johnson’s solicitor, Roland Day, argued that the case against the 31-year-old was “circumstantial”.
Johnson has not applied for bail. His matter will return to Gosford Local Court on October 27.
