A man in Algeria has been sentenced to two years in prison for dangling a baby out of a 15-storey building. The horrifying reason he did it?

The BBC reports that the man had posted a picture of himself dangling the baby out of a window with the caption: 1,000 likes or I will drop him”.
The man was found guilty of child abuse charges and has been sentenced to two years in prison, Al Arabiya reports.
The man, who is a relative of the child, insisted the image had been altered by social media users.
“The picture was taken in a balcony with protective barriers. These were removed,” he said.
