Michelle Obama delivered her final speech at the White House yesterday and in true Michelle Obama style, she absolutely brought the house down.
Thanking her supportersm she described being the First Lady as “the greatest honor” of her life, and said “I hope I’ve made you proud.”
Speaking at the event aimed at honoring the 2017 School Counselor of the Year, which she established during her time as the FLOTUS, highlights high school counselors who have demonstrated leadership skills.

“I want our young people to know that they matter, that they belong,” Obama said, her voice breaking several times near the end of her remarks. “So don’t be afraid. You hear me, young people? Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered. Empower yourself with a good education. Then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of you boundless promise. Lead by example with hope; never fear.”
President Obama will deliver his own farewell address in Chicago on January. 10, and the first family are expected to host a star-studded farewell party this weekend at the White House.
