Paris Hilton Just Gave The World’s Most Hilarious Interview

Like, ever 💁

She may be in the process of changing her image from former reality TV star to successful business mogul, but Paris Hilton sure has a funny way of going about it.

She recently invited W Magazine into her home, which the title describes as a shrine to the socialite’s noughties self – think Paris on the walls, Paris on the cushions, Paris on “every surface in the house.” Amid, of course, lashings of hot pink.

The only thing more shocking than the Paris palace? The words she utters within them.

In case you weren’t aware, it was Paris Hilton who took the world’s first selfie. In fact, according to the 36-year-old, you have her to thank for pretty much all the cool things you own/do/wear.

“If a beeper had a camera, I would have taken a selfie with it,” Hilton tells W. “I think I have a selfie from when I was a little kid, like on a disposable camera.”

She was also responsible for the influencer trend. “We started a whole new genre of celebrity that no one had ever seen before,” she says. She makes a valid point – pre-Paris, no-one was famous simply for being famous.

As W points out, the first episode of The Simple Life, her reality TV series with Nicole Richie, rated higher than the all-time highest ratings of The Hills and Keeping Up With The Kardashians combined, attracting an audience of 13-million.

Finally, she’s also responsible for modern day fashion. “To now see things on the runway, and to see girls wearing things that I used to wear is really cool because nobody really dressed like me back in the day,” Hilton says.

Case in point: Kendall Jenner, who sought to replicate Paris Hilton’s 21st birthday outfit for her own bash early this year. Paris was actually present at the party, and Kendall admitted she inspired her look.

So while Paris’ declarations sound ridiculous, it looks like she might be right.
