Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been openly dating since November of last year, with public appearances and rumours of romantic gestures sending the world into a royal wedding watch frenzy.
However, Priyanka Chopra would like to remind the world that her actress bestie is much more than just Prince Harry’s girlfriend.
In a new interview on the Wendy Williams talk show, Williams steers the conversation towards the Suits actress.
“You’re friends with Meghan Markle,” she started.
“Right,” Chopra replied, clearly knowing where the conversation was headed.
“Prince Harry’s girlfriend!” Williams exclaimed while the audience cheered.
“Also, Meghan Markle: actress…Suits…her achievements,” Chopra replied, managing to keep a smile on her face. “Just saying.”
The Baywatch star does have a point: Markle’s achievements have been severely overshadowed by her status as Prince Harry’s partner.
The 35-year-old is not only an incredibly successful actress, she has been an active feminist since age 11 (yes, you read that right), she has a degree in International Relations from the prestigious Northwestern University under her belt, she regularly writes moving essays about race relations, women’s rights, and self-acceptance, and she works with charities such as the U.N. and World Vision.
Of course, the above just makes Markle all the more princess-worthy, and Williams wasn’t about to be derailed.
“Okay, I understand that,” she said, before asking whether Chopra thinks a royal wedding is on the cards.
“I don’t know. I hope so! She seems happy,” the 34-year-old replied. “I think they look great together.”
She then quickly added, “I mean, no pressure. High-profile relationships are so stressful anyway. As a friend, I wouldn’t like to add on that at all.”
