Ryan Gosling Thanks Eva Mendes In Acceptance Speech And You Will Lose It

We’re not crying, you are.

Despite being parents to two daughters, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have managed to keep their relationship and family life entirely out of the spotlight – until now.

As the La La Land star took to the stage to accept the award for Best Actor he used the moment to thank – and absolutely gush – about his “lady” whom he told the audience he wanted to “thank properly”.

“While I was singing and dancing and playing the piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer,” he said.

“If she hadn’t taken all of that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today.”

He then stared directly down the barrel, adding “Sweetheart, thank you.”

If that wasn’t enough he then sent a message to his two girls, “To my daughters, Amada and Esmerelda, I love you,” before dedicating the win to Mendes’ older brither, Juan Carlos, who lost his battle with cancer in April 2016.
