An inquest into the death of 14-year-old UK girl Megan Hoyle has found she took her own life after sending a heartbreaking final text message to her friend.

The Blackburn teenager took a fatal overdose of her mother’s prescription medication in February and tragically died four days later in hospital, Lancashire radio station 2BR reports.

The inquest heard Megan sent a text to her friend, Christopher Cozens, that said: “If you get his message it is too late and I am sorry. I am sorry I’m not strong enough. I promise I will be better in another life, be happy, be braver.”

The message continued: “I was strong once. I was internally beautiful but that girl died at 12-years-old when he ruined my body, my mind and my soul.”

Metro reports the teenager had been struggling to cope after being assaulted at age 12.

East Lancashire coroner Michael Singleton explained that the young girl’s organs have been donated, which will save four other people’s lives.

“That the family could have the strength to consider the organ donation is awe-inspiring,” he said.

“To give life to four other people is amazing.”
