The 2015 Prix de marie claire awards presented by Lexus marked the 10-year anniversary of Australia’s premium beauty and fashion awards. And in true PDMC style, the event was a spectacular.

The arrival

The rain may have belted down and the wind may have howled, but that did not stop 220 guests from turning out for the 2015 Prix de marie claire awards. As VIP guests stepped out of their chauffeured Lexus vehicles and inside to the event at Fox Studios, they were greeted with glasses of French champagne and rosemary paloma cocktails before they walked the red carpet.

The “class photo”

After cocktails and canapés, marie claire editor and publisher, Jackie Frank marshalled the cream of the Australian fashion and beauty industries to pose for a “class photo” – a moment in time, captured to celebrate a decade of the nation’s premium beauty and fashion awards. Guests were then asked to ascend the huge staircase into the dining room.

The big reveal

Prix de marie claire is renowned for its grand surprises and dramatic styling. In 2015, a giant curtain fell away to reveal the event dining room, inspired by the gardens at the Palace of Versailles, and lit by 25,500 candles. Guests were then treated to a lavish and illuminating dining experience.

The moment

The announcement of the fashion awards was preceded by a unique runway show. When the drums sounded – part of an original musical score composed specifically for the event, assembled guests knew something incredible was about to happen. As 40 models carrying billowing black flags paraded around the tables, seven horses emerged, festooned in bedazzling Swarovski crystal bridles.
