Asher Keddie Confirms That Offspring May Not Be Renewed For Another Season

Nooo!

Asher Keddie is renown for her role as Dr Nina Proudman on Channel Ten’s Offspring, but it appears she’s uncertain how much longer she will continue playing one of Australia’s most treasured characters.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, the 43-year-old actress discussed the future of the program, before Wednesday night’s season seven finale.

Keddie and Channel Ten confirmed that it is still undecided on whether fans will be treated to a renewed season.

“I’m happy for the show to come to a natural close but I still feel seven series in that it is challenging and that the writing has really taken a big leap this year,” she said.

‘There are different possibilities if we were to go again but I also feel like all the sibling, in particular, have gotten to quite a solid place in their emotional lives.”

“It is quite satisfying at the end. There is a lovely note of ambiguity,” she added.

Keddie’s surprising comments come after reports that Channel Ten has made no guarantee of Season 8.
